About

With a desire to participate in a community development, we indigenes of Ijebu Jesa residing in North America, came together to form a not for profit organization called IJUCNA (Ijebu Jesa Union Conference, North America).

Bobagunwa Kenny Olatunji,  the organization’s first president, was the initiator of the idea to start IJUCNA.  To actualize that vision, Bobagunwa teamed up with Mr. Babatunde Loye, Mrs. Sola Aregbesola, Mr. Oladipo Awe and Mr. Lanre Amule to lay the groundwork for the formation of the organization.   The five met on several occasions to fine tune the vision and contributed the initial funds for the incorporation of IJUCNA. The organization obtained its certificate of incorporation from the State of Illinois on June 16, 2020.

With all hands on deck, recruitment of members began earnestly and within the first 30 days, membership grew from five to fifty.  The feedback was enthusiastic and encouraging. The founder appointed a bylaws review committee to fine tune the rules and regulations for the organization. This was completed in a timely fashion and the interim board was constituted.

Upon completion of the bylaws, we scheduled an inauguration meeting for October 25, 2020; to formally launch the organization.  At that time, the COVID-19 pandemic was raging and it became obvious that a physical meeting would be impraticable.  Therefore, the launching of the organization was done via Zoom.  The event was well attended and our royal father, Oba Olufemi Agunsoye, the Elegboro of Egboroland was the chief launcher at the occasion.

Some of the highlights of the inaugural ceremony included the election of the initial Board of Directors; appointment of Project Committee, passing a motion to provide additional palliative measures for the people of Ijebu Jesa, amongst others.
